IGEP 3rd Study Visit: United Kingdom

The 3rd İGEP Study Visit has been carried out to the United Kingdom between the 18th and 22nd January 2010. The Study Visit focused on the strategic planning and performance monitoring processes in the UK and also on the administration of structural funds in Glasgow. The group consisted of 14 senior administrators and planners from the 4 municipalities, including Mr. Ömer Vural, PCU Head and Deputy General Secretary of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and Ms. Serpil Baran, PCU Head and Deputy General Secretary of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. İGEP was represented by Project Director and Managing Director for DeLeeuw International.

Ankara Social Rehabilitation Centre has opened

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Social Rehabilitation Centre for Street Children and/or Children with Substance Addiction has been opened with a joyful ceremony, which had high number of participants.

The opening of the Social Rehabilitation Centre, in the context of the Internal Migration Integration Project (IGEP), was made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ömer Vural, Social Services Department Head Adnan Şeker, IGEP Team Leader Dr. Luc Zweanepoel and IGEP Social Services Key Expert Hans Jürgen Maeth all together.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Child and Youth Center First Local Activity

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Child and Youth Center which has opened its doors on 20th November, “Child Rights Day”, realized its first local event at Historical Gas Factory. Children that attend courses in the Child and Youth Center came together in the event and enjoyed their day.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Sırrı Aydoğan, Provincial Social Services and Child Protection Director Zekeriya Ertaş, municipality bureucrats, İGEP Key Expert Hans Maeth, children and their families have attended the event.
